Art Workshops Gallery
This exhibition will have you viewing exclusive artefacts, which combine an eclectic approach to life.
Both Hubert and Jan combine years of crafted experience and a passion for painting, into objects and artworks that offer the viewer a look into technical detail, embellishments, carving, paint and beeswax finishes.
Art Workshops Gallery offers a unique opportunity to obtain an insight into what can be achieved with time, commitment and passion, in an exhibition with heart and soul.
All are welcome to our opening event:
Jan, a Tasmanian, is an artist principally in acrylics and pouring modalities. Her work materialises individually from within herself. Her background is in water based oils, learning the magic from many wonderful artists along the way (especially Nick Dobson from Passion for Painting, Sarah Deans Art School and Nemesh – all in New Zealand). Since moving to Queensland she has concentrated on acrylics, especially loving the way the paints form when pouring. She is also currently enjoying blending and scraping full acrylics.
Hubert (pronounced HughBear) is from English/Belgian Heritage, living most of his life in Christchurch, New Zealand. He is an artistic wood turner principally making display pieces embellished with pyrography, carving, piercing, resin inlays and paint or beeswax finishes. His experience in over 55 yrs as an architectural designer allows him to formulate intricate designs as each piece evolves, never making the same one twice. Trained by Shane Hewitt of Whangarei, NZ.
