Margaret is a contemporary artist who draws inspiration from the vast and varied landscapes of
Australia, gleaned from her regular road trips throughout the country. She works in both acrylic
paint and metal with her style particularly highlighting the textural and decorative detail found in
nature.
Her work has recently been included in the Apollo Bay Art Show, Quadrant Gallery Exhibition,
Victorian Artists Society and at Red Gallery for the Ladies in Red Rebel Hearts, just to name a
few. Her solo exhibition ‘Capturing Moments’ (2022) was very successful and curated by the
Clan Collective at Clancy Gallery in Preston, VIC. She has participated in numerous exhibitions
during her career and entered art prizes, some of her most recent contributions being to the
SHOW and tell, MAVA At International Flower and Garden Show in Carlton, Gippsland
Sculpture Exhibition 2023 in Yinnar, Feel Good Art Prize At Quadrant Gallery, Hawthorn,
Contemporary Artists Society CAS A4 Australia 2023 Exhibition at Herring Island Gallery,
Richmond, the Linden Postcard Show at Linden New Art in St Kilda (2022/2023), the Biblio Art
Prize at the Blarney Bookshop & Art Gallery in Port Fairy (2022/2023).
Margaret has worked with a number of schools, teaching and guiding aspiring artists through the
Artist in Residence programs. In 2018 she was hosted by Carey Baptist Grammar School in Kew,
Melbourne to create four metal wall panels ‘Four Oaks’
In 2022/2023 she undertook another Artist in Residence at Overnewton Anglican Community
College in East Keillor to create four metal wall panels ‘ Eagles Over the Maribyrnong’.
She has undertaken commissions to create garden features for private gardens this year. In past
years commissions have included the four Metal Privacy Screens for a private home in Yeppoon,
Queensland (2022) a Metal Wall Panel for the Forest Spiritual Retreat in Forest Hills, Victoria
(2022) a Metal Wall Panel at DuBock Funerals in West Brunswick (2021), a Wine-Bar Menu
metal board for Burke and Wills Winery Folk Festival (2021), and the Urquhart Gate & Wall
Panels for the bike-stands at Coburg Primary School senior campus in Coburg (2020).
