Janine Delgos

A recurring and fundamental aspect of my artistic practice that remains steadfast is the desire to capture the essence of my immediate surroundings and the landscape in which I reside. I aim for my work to convey a sense of place and environment without being overly literal.

My artistic endeavors began in my youth and evolved into a formal education in the arts, resulting in the completion of a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) Visual Art from Melbourne in 1984. Now residing in Montville, following a distinguished 35-year career in education on the Sunshine Coast and Victoria, my current atelier and gallery in the hinterland serve as a wellspring of creativity, drawing inspiration from the panoramic coastal views and lush rainforest surroundings.

While a significant amount of my time is devoted to creating and teaching in my Studio, I also delve into watercolour, acrylics and ceramics with a strong conviction that experimenting with diverse mediums enhances my artistic pursuits. Additionally, my sketchbook plays a crucial role in my creative routine, granting me the freedom to explore ideas without limitations.
